SALT & PEPPER PRODUCTIONS LES MISERABLES - SCHOOLS EDITION
Salt & Pepper productions are delighted to be producing the hit musical Les Misérables (Schools Edition) in July and August. Rehearsals will commence in April 2026.
An enthusiastic, hard-working cast aged 13-18 (plus a couple of younger performers for the roles of Gavroche, Little Cosette and Little Eponine) will work alongside a professional production team to bring this iconic and cherished musical to Hartford.

Auditions will take place on Sunday 26 April 2026. Times will be allocated by 10am-4pm.

Audition Part Access
Please note this is the not the same form as the ‘request for mailing list’ that was sent out previously. Please do complete the audition form to register for an audition.

Audition Part Access
Preparation
You only need to prepare a song or songs for the auditions. There will be a little acting in a workshop format. There is no choreography audition. Details of which song to prepare are in the audition pack which is attached. PDFs of the vocal lines / lyrics for the songs are now available and can be downloaded via this link: Audition Materials.
You have all stated either one preferred part or ensemble. We are thrilled by the response we have received. We ask you to prepare the song(s) for your preferred part (or ensemble) but we ask you to keep an open mind and workshop through other roles with us as necessary. For example, we have had considerable interest in the part of Eponine (as we expected) but don’t worry if that’s your preference; we suggest you stick with your original choice and talk to us about other parts at the audition. We also need a really strong ensemble and there are plenty of featured roles for the Company, too.
Recordings
You can find recordings of the songs in various cast albums online or via Spotify/Apple Music etc.
Next Steps
Further information about the time slots will be issued in the days leading up to 26th April via email and on our socials. We have noted comments from those who need to audition earlier or later in the day because of other production commitments etc. We will try to accommodate these.

The Pit Orchestra
Lastly, we have a couple of orchestra places left for the show. If you know any instrumentalists who play cello, piano, percussion, violin or trumpet to Grade 6+ standard, please ask them to get in touch with me directly. Our orchestra will be a mixture of professional players and students to give young people the best opportunity to gain valuable experience in a live pit orchestra.
