Aladdin KIDS! 🌟

We are so excited that you are joining us this summer for Aladdin KIDS!

To help get you in the mood and prepared for our first day, if you would like to audition for one of the named characters, please spend some time listening to the songs and having a read through the script before the start of the workshop. There is no need to learn anything off by heart, but becoming familiar with the story, characters, and music will help you feel more confident when we hold our auditions on the first morning.

A quick reminder that auditioning for the main named characters is completely optional. Everyone will have plenty to do throughout the four days, with lots of opportunities to perform, sing, dance, and be part of the show.

Whether you’re hoping for a named role or would simply like to be part of the company, we promise you’re going to have an amazing time. This production is going to be so much fun, and we are really looking forward to working with each and every one of you.

Characters

Principal Characters

  • Aladdin: A charismatic street urchin who longs to make his mother proud and win Princess Jasmine’s heart.
  • Jasmine: The rebellious Princess of Agrabah who craves the freedom to make her own choices and explore the world outside the palace.
  • Genie: The fun-loving, wisecracking, and all-powerful magical spirit who lives in the lamp and yearns for freedom.
  • Jafar: The power-hungry, crooked Royal Vizier who schemes to seize the throne.
  • Iago: Jafar’s fawning, comical parrot sidekick. 

Supporting Characters

  • Sultan: The warm-hearted, well-meaning ruler of Agrabah who dotes on his daughter.
  • Lamp Vendor / Narrator: A fast-talking, likeable merchant who serves as the principal storyteller for the show.
  • Cave Guardian: The imposing, magical protector who guards the Cave of Wonders and warns Aladdin to touch only the lamp. 

Featured Roles & Ensemble

  • Junior Djinn: A unique group of stage magicians (specific to the KIDS edition) who execute the magic tricks and “flying carpet” moments.
  • Marketplace Vendors: Includes the Bread Vendor, Fruit Vendor, and other merchants from whom Aladdin and Jasmine interact.
  • Royal Guards: Led by the intimidating Razoul, tasked with upholding the ancient laws of Agrabah.
